The Board of Trustees of the Lake Pend Oreille School District Is seeking applicants for the position of superintendent, to begin on July 1, 2022. Tom Albertson has served in this position since 2019, and is retiring at the end of this school year.. This is an excellent leadership opportunity in a leading Idaho school district, located in a beautiful portion of the state.
The Lake Pend Oreille School District, one of two school districts in Bonner County, covers a large geographical area that reaches east to the Montana border. The district serves 3,885 economically diverse students in 12 buildings: one comprehensive high school, one alternative high school, one junior-senior high school at the eastern end of the district, one middle school and seven elementary schools. The outlying elementary schools are relatively small. Thirty-five percent of the district’s General Fund is anchored to a permanent, fixed amount, voter approved operational property tax levy.
