Preston School District #201 is currently seeking a highly qualified Speech Language Pathologist for the 2023/2024 school year. Successful candidates will hold a Master’s degree in speech language pathology, speech therapy, or equivalent and relevant license and certifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master’s degree in speech language pathology, speech therapy, or equivalent.
2. A relevant license and certification.
3. In-depth understanding of speech and swallowing disorders.
4. Practical experience with database management systems may be an advantage.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.
6. Superb research and networking abilities.
7. A willingness to connect with patients and their families.
8. Effective communication skills with stakeholders.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performing assessments and diagnoses and developing Individualized Education Plans.
2. Liaising with family members, counselors, teachers, psychologists, doctors, and other professionals to design holistic treatments.
3. Combining traditional therapies with new and innovative techniques.
4. Providing support and advice to patients, their caregivers, and family.
5. Compiling data notes on patients' progress and adjusting IEP as necessary.
6. Motivating patients, especially when progress is slow and they seem despondent.
7. Maintaining patient files and meticulously updating IEP records.
8. Establishing networks with other speech language pathologists and healthcare professionals by attending regular professional development and events.
9. Staying abreast of developments in speech language pathology

Education required
