Garden Valley School District Special Education Teacher Certification Requirements: Special Education Generalist K/12Performance Requirements Included but not limited to the following:• Strong background knowledge and experience with IDEA and students with disabilities.• Working background in the RTI process, developing IEP’s and leading meetings.• Strong organizational skills and the ability to monitor student progress and meeting calendar.• Must have a strong background in instructional technology along with the ability to differentiate instruction to ensure all students learn;• Establishes and maintains cooperative and quality relationships with others: contributes to the development of a positive school climate;• Abide by the Code of Ethics for the Teaching Profession as established by the Idaho State Board of Education, the Board Policies and procedures of the District and the terms and provisions of the Standard Teachers' Contract;• Adhere to confidentiality with regard to student information;• Establish and maintain good working habits including punctuality;• Must be capable of accomplishing identified Performance Responsibilities;• Must be able to communicate proficiently in English including both verbal and written communication with adults and students;• The ability to speak and communicate clearly in lessons to students as well as communications with peers, supervisors, patrons, and parents/guardians.
