Job Description
We are now accepting applications for a full-time Secondary Secretary/Asst. Registrar position.
Rimrock Junior-Senior High School strives to be the premier small, rural public junior-senior high school in Idaho by

develop them to be positive contributors to our communities and nation. The Secondary Secretary position is crucial
to our team success, with the following major responsibilities:
Jr./Sr. High Secretary Duties
Partnering with the Principal to schedule, coordinate, and execute daily operations and activities throughout the
building.
Keeping the Principal informed of any challenges related to daily operations and student needs
Scheduling and organizing the school calendar and coordinating appointments with patrons, service providers, and
parents as needed
Creating and maintaining accurate student records while strictly upholding staff, student and family confidentiality
Overseeing all aspects of inputting and updating student attendance, to include monitoring students for recurring
absences and issuing attendance notifications
Calling and scheduling substitute teachers and processing leave requests for staff absences
Maintaining financial records under the direction of the Business Manager, to include depositing funds into District
and school-specific accounts as needed
Assisting with point of services duties, to include recording lunch counts, under the direction of the Food Service
Director
Maintaining and inputting student data into PowerSchool (the District’s student management system)
Registering new students and transmitting records requests for departing students
Collecting and reporting compliance data regarding student immunization records
Attending and staffing after-hour school functions as directed
Assisting the principal in ensuring the safety and security of the students and staff through execution of security
procedures and recurring safety drills
Attending staff meetings and professional development
Assisting Business Manager with ISEE reporting
Assisting minor student health needs, including taking student temperatures, calling parents due to illness, and
administering medication to students according to established school policy under the supervision of the Principal
Assisting the principal with monitoring and addressing student behavior behavioral and disciplinary issues
Knowing and adhering to all pertinent District and building policies
Performing other duties as assigned
Jr./Sr. High Assistant Registrar Duties
 Demonstrated knowledge of admissions, enrollment, and student records for an educational organization.
 Knowledge of student retention issues, as well as the federal and state law, administrative rules, and Board
policy regarding student records.
 Organize and perform admissions and registration.
 Review and compile student admission applications and related documents.
 Meet with newly enrolled students and parents in person or on the phone to review forms and explain the
enrollment and planning process.
 Assist with the collection of all paperwork by responding to specific questions during the form completion
process and follow up on missing forms until file is complete.
 Review, compile, and update student credentials needed for admissions status, and monitor progress of
applicants.

 Set objectives for the district's admissions program and assist with an annual budget when assigned.
 Coordinate the preparation and distribution of school publications pertaining to admissions and enrollment.
 Assist in all admission’s special events such as open house, career day, orientations, and high school tours,
as assigned.
 Communicate and cooperate with school guidance counselors to assist students.
 Respond to requests for public information about the district's admissions and enrollment policies and
programs.
 Coordinate the grade petition process and respond to inquiries concerning academic performance.
 Provide administrative support, which may include scheduling meetings and events, maintaining various
office files, initiating, and drafting correspondence, and other related duties.

Qualifications
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Demonstrated record of meeting deadlines, solving problems, and communicating effectively (verbal and written)
Proficient in using computers for administrative tasks, to include word processing and database entry / maintenance
High school diploma
Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
Salary
Dependent on District Salary Schedule and state-provided career ladder
