This school social worker position is being created to assist in the development of an At-Risk program. This
individual will work with a team to identify at-risk students within their family units to enhance their social,
emotional, intellectual, academic and behavioral health over an extended period of time with the ultimate goal of
scholarship entrance to college or trade schools. This is a coaching, mentoring, heart-felt, hands-on, creative, and
demanding position being designed to make a difference by selecting, monitoring and staying with the at-risk
students through the most critical time of their early adult years. This mentoring approach will require working
with these selected at-risk students and their families through phone calls, home visits, community referrals and
education, goal planning and setting, and through follow-up with health and mental wellness needs.
