Job Description: As an Academic Advisor at Richard McKenna Online Charter High School, you will play a crucial role in supporting our online students throughout their academic journey. You will serve as a mentor, guide, and resource for students, helping them navigate their online education experience and achieve their academic and career aspirations.• Provide personalized academic guidance and support to students, helping them select appropriate courses, set educational goals, and create a plan for success.• Oversee the student admissions and graduation process• Request, organize, and manage student records• Maintain accurate physical and computerized student records• Provide excellent customer service• Verify residency, eligibly, credit level status and enter transcripts• Greet visitors with a positive, helpful attitude• Answer phones in a professional manner and routing calls as necessary• Assist parent/students in navigating school website and learning management portal• Ensure records are updated with new grades• Maintain updated reports on the students’ progress• Monitor student progress and academic performance, identifying early warning signs and implementing interventions when necessary to help students stay on track• Transfer records and verify enrollment for exiting students• Monitor student graduation rate, including filing appeals with the Idaho Department Of Education.• Process and transmit requests for academic transcripts• Prepare diplomas for students• Maintain a student roster with accuracy for testing coordinator, ISEE reporting, and internal use.• Prepare a variety of documents such as Letters of Recommendation, Verification of Compliance, Certificates of Eligibility, Enrollment Verifications etc.• Maintain student confidentiality and student privacy in accordance with FERPA• Answer academic questions or concerns• Review graduation requirements and individual graduation plan with parents/student• Identify students’ strengths and weaknesses• Connect students with resources• Stay up-to-date on school policies, procedures, and academic requirements to provide accurate information and guidance to students• Attend college fairs and conferences as needed• Visit Idaho high schools to promote RMCHS• Other duties as assigned
