Job Title: Middle School Math Teacher
Location: Falcon Ridge Public Charter School
Reports To: Principal
Calendar: 173 Days; 2022-2023 School Year
Hours: Full-Time
Salary: Place on Certified Salary Schedule

Purpose:
Developing middle school students in grades 6-8 to become competent, productive, and responsible by
teaching the academic skills and positive character qualities to succeed in life.
Qualifications:
● Must possess a current Idaho Education Credential with appropriate endorsement
● Successful experience working with students in a middle school classroom setting
● Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with students, parents, supervisors, and
other staff members
● Demonstrates the ability to accomplish the major duties listed below

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Effectively creates a purposeful learning environment and positive classroom culture that fosters
the development of both math academic skills and character skills in middle school students.
2. Demonstrates knowledge of math subject matter and the ability to appropriately scaffold concepts
for middle school students.
3. Provides math instruction that engages all students using a variety of instructional strategies.
4. Establishes clear objectives for all lessons that follow the school’s instructional program and state
standards.
5. Differentiates instruction and curriculum to meet the needs of all students.
6. Accommodates the implementation of special services (IEP, 504) when applicable.
7. Formatively and summatively evaluates student progress on a regular basis and provides
appropriate feedback to students and parents.
8. Administers standardized testing as required by the school and the state of Idaho and utilizes this
data to inform instruction.
9. Creates a classroom environment that demonstrates strong classroom management skills,
follows Falcon Ridge philosophy, and is conducive to learning.
10. Collaborative and committed to working as a team with fellow staff members, students, and
parents in all aspects of educational programming.
11. Participates in weekly staff meetings.
12. Participates in weekly Professional Learning Community meetings (which includes: collaboration,
professional development, assisting in the selection of instructional equipment and materials,
etc.).
13. Participates in parent/teacher conferences, creating a partnership with parents.
14. Shows willingness to serve on other school committees as needed (i.e. RTI team, safety team,
etc.).
15. Communicates effectively and proactively with students, parents, and other staff members.
16. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, school policy, and
administrative regulations.
17. Knows and upholds all policies pertaining to staff members and students as specified in school
rules and regulations.
18. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and
facilities. Follows prescribed safety regulations.
19. Acts professionally, ethically, and confidentially in all aspects of employment.
20. Performs any school-related duties assigned by administration.
