Terms of Employment
Starting Pay Range: $15.00/hr
Work Contract: 7.5 Hrs/Day, Student Days

Position Summary
The Paraprofessional will assist the licensed classroom teacher in implementing school programs and encouraging a positive learning environment, assist the teacher in academic assignments, social emotional learning components, classroom management, and/or materials preparation, and will assist in maintaining and facilitating a learning environment that supports the emotional, physical and intellectual development of each child.

Minimum Requirements
-High School Diploma or GED
-Paraprofessional PRAXIS or two years college credits, preferred
-Strong verbal and oral communication skills
-Self-motivated and strong analytical skills
-Attention to detail, prioritization skills, and time management
-Quick learner with a positive attitude
-Valid Idaho identification
-Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Under the immediate direction of the classroom teacher, major responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
-Implements programs using instructional materials and learning aids
-Provides instructional assistance
-Leads small group activities
-Tutors and assists individual students and small groups of students with special learning needs in drill, practice, and study activities to reinforce previously taught concepts and follows-up learning and training activities
-Operates and/or assists students in the operation of a variety of instructional media, including use of classroom technology
-Implements student behavior management plans/programs and uses of positive reinforcement strategies and techniques in the management of student behavior
-Collects progress monitoring/assessment/behavioral data from a variety of sources and compiles and organizes data; inputs data into appropriate databases
-Assesses student progress and in administers progress monitoring (e.g., DIBELS)
-Confers with teachers concerning student progress and to determine programs, activities, and materials needed to meet the individual needs of students
-Assists the teacher in preparing, making, and modifying materials and equipment to support direct instructional activities
-Participates in all required professional development activities that occur during the paraprofessional work day
-Strictly adheres to district and state rules, regulations, and policies on confidentiality;
-Demonstrates integrity through ethical behavior
-Performs job responsibilities in a timely and consistent manner
-Demonstrates punctuality by arriving to work on time and adhering to District attendance policies
-Exhibits accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of job performance
-Performs other related duties as assigned or directed by school administrator
