JOB SUMMARY:
To deliver instruction in ways that encourages student learning and achievement. To provide a God-centered, discipleship-driven, creative education that prepares students for a life of personal fulfillment and service to others within the greater community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree.
Hold an active ACSI teaching certificate and/or an active State Teaching certificate
Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Principal & the Board of Directors may find appropriate and acceptable
Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
Plan, organize and deliver appropriate instruction. To plan and prepare courses, schemes of work and individual lessons, appropriate to the needs, interests, experience and existing knowledge of students in the class. Utilize a variety of instructional techniques to meet the individual needs of students.
Base instruction on the developmental stages of students. Use appropriate techniques and strategies that promote and enhance critical, creative and evaluative thinking of students based upon a biblical worldview.
Maintain individual student records and reports of student progress.
Evaluate student progress on a regular basis. Build and maintain cooperative relationships with parents, and to communicate with them on students learning and progress both in academics and character.
Maintain safe learning environment, good order, discipline and respect for others among students.
Maintain an attractive and stimulating classroom environment.
Take part in all-school responsibilities such as attending assemblies, registering the attendance of students and supervising students before and after school as necessary.
Support other GPA team members in all facets of school life as needed.
Maintain and update personal teacher websites (“Renweb”) according to standards set by the Principal.
Foster health communication by regularly checking school email accounts.
Teachers are encouraged to attend Genesis activities that occur outside normal school hours. Visible support at such events promote the unity of the “Genesis Team”.
