To assist district and building administration in the development and implementation of a plan designed to support site level teachers with implementing effective instructional strategies in Language Arts. To teach alongside teachers in the classroom (co-teaching) to support students and their acquisition of the reading standards. To diagnose, evaluate, assess and teach reading at various levels to students not meeting benchmarks in reading. To create, plan and implement a high-quality reading intervention program and environment conducive to learning and personal growth in accordance with each student's needs. To motivate students and staff to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a strong foundation in literacy for future learning. To oversee implementation of ISTATION K-8 as well as the implementation of the IRI.

Education required

QUALIFICATIONS:• Possess a bachelor’s degree or higher• Hold a valid Idaho Standard Instructional Certificate endorsed for All Subjects K/8 or Literacy K/12• Successful teaching experience may include; teaching reading in the elementary classroom with proven academic achievement, providing reading interventions that result in learning growth and working with teachers as a team leader, mentor, student-teaching supervising teacher, or staff developer in the area of reading• Be a teacher in good standing with no documented performance or conduct concerns• Works as a capacity builder with classroom teachers to teach the K-5 language arts standards utilizing evidence-based practices in foundational reading skills, reading comprehension, writing, remediation strategies/techniques and assessment to improve student progress in the area of language arts• Serves as a resource in identifying effective instructional strategies and interventions to improve reading achievement• Meets regularly with principals and teachers to set goals, review assessment data and assess the outcomes of goals established by the school• Participates on grade level teams to review, analyze and evaluate the history, background, and assessment of students to design instructional programs to meet individual educational needs• Provides leadership and reinforces ongoing professional development for teachers to include the demonstration of instructional practices grounded in the science of reading• Supports administration by collecting and presenting student performance data in reading
