JOB SUMMARY:
Assist the principal and Park School staff in the efficient operation of Park School. Duties will include student supervision, behavior management and student intervention responsibilities, teacher support, coordination of the testing program at Park School, and other duties as identified and prioritized by the principal.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
Report to the building principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Idaho Elementary Teaching Certificate
2. Endorsement in Curriculum and Instruction, ESL, or other applicable area desired
3. Strong background in effective teaching methods, supervision, discipline, team-building, and
technology
4. Strong background in Idaho Core Standards
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
6. Excellent organizational skills
7. Ability to create strong relationships
8. Ability to create and maintain a positive learning environment and school culture
9. Excellent leadership skills
10. Ability to identify school needs and initiative to address needs effectively
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist with school operations as assigned by the building principal
2. Student supervision
3. Program coordination
4. Student management, including providing intervention, training, coaching as needed.
Complete and/or follow-up on student referrals and discipline reports, maintain high standards of student conduct, and enforce the district/building discipline policy.
5. Assist in the development of student interventions (academic/behavioral/other)
6. Assist in creating/implementing building schedules
7. Test coordinator
8. Assist with professional development for staff
9. Initiate, design, and implement programs designed to meet the unique needs of students and/or
Park School
10. Serve as a resource for staff
11. Communicate with parents
12. Assist in the completion of reports, as assigned by the building principal
13. Assist with student attendance issues
14. Assist in the development, coordination, and implementation of school activities
15. Assist with planning and implementation of topics related to school safety, emergency
preparedness, and crisis management
16. Assist with school operations in the absence of the building principal
