JOB DESCRIPTION: K-5 Part-time Counselor 2024-2025 School Year
Position: K-5 Counselor (Part-Time) 2024-2025 School Year
Location: North Star Charter School- Eagle, Idaho
Hours: Part-Time 20 hours a week (2.5 days only)- Wednesday afternoon, full day Thursday and Friday
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Part-Time Elementary School Counselor to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the social and emotional well-being of our elementary school students, providing counseling services, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and administrators.
Responsibilities:
Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students' social-emotional needs.
Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop strategies for supporting students' academic and personal success.
Implement programs and activities that promote positive social skills, conflict resolution, and emotional regulation.
Assist in the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives to create a positive and inclusive school culture.
Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and student progress.
Stay informed about current trends and best practices in school counseling.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in School Counseling or related field.
State licensure or certification as a school counselor.
Experience working with elementary school students.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
Knowledge of and commitment to the principles of a positive and inclusive school culture.
