JOB TITLE:                          K-3 Summer School Building Administrator REPORTS TO:                     Superintendent JOB SUMMARY:              Provide instructional leadership and management within the building; ensure the District vision and mission are implemented and fulfilled; cultivate and sustain a school culture and instructional programs that foster growth for students and staff; manage the building operations and resources for a safe and collaborative learning environment; collaborate with families, community members, and stakeholders; act with integrity and fairness; and understand and respond to the larger political, social, and economical context.     QUALIFICATIONS:          A valid Idaho Administrative Certificate; a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Leadership Administration or related discipline applicable to the assignment; demonstrated ability to accomplish the duties and responsibilities listed below.  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Serves as an instructional leader who promotes a positive culture and student achievement. Develops programs that support and enhance student achievement and successResponsible for facilitating student achievement and growth as measured by district and/or state guidelines.Implements data informed strategies that align content standards, curriculum, teaching and learning, and assessment.Fosters an environment in which research based practices guide decision making and instruction. Communicates with staff, parents, district personnel, and others in a positive and encouraging manner.Attends and participates in various meetings and takes a leadership role in designated district committees as required or requested.Selects, supports, evaluates, and/or retains high quality instructional and support personnel.Provides constructive and professional feedback, coaching, and mentoring to the school staff.Provides opportunities for professional growth and development, attainment of the district, and building instructional goals, and implementation of curriculum for staff.Provides leadership, vision, and inspiration to staff and students.Communicates to staff and community a clear vision of achieving excellence in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives of the Emmett School District.Maintains high visibility and devotes considerable time to interact with students, staff, and the community.Encourages parent participation and active contributions within the school from all stakeholders.Ensures the efficient and safe use of the school and facility.Creates a safe and productive learning environment for students and staffModels and promotes respect for the diversity of student backgrounds, experiences, and learning approaches.Develops school-wide discipline and behavior policies.Maintains data and records in a safe and secure manner.Plans, prepares, and administers the school budget according to school district guidelines.Allocates resources equitably.Annually reviews the strategic plan to set priorities.Uses data to drive instructional improvements.Understands Federal and State education law to maintain accreditation, IDEA, Section 504 and FERPA compliance.Demonstrates ability to adjust instructional strategies and practices in order to reach year-end goals.Expertise and knowledge of Professional Learning Communities.Demonstrated successful experiences in staff leadership, management, and teamwork principles, and the ability to effectively apply principles to support and advance organizational objectives.Proven ability to appropriately hire, manage performance of, and develop assigned staff.Demonstrated instructional leader (i.e. ability to plan for instructional success; depth and breadth in pedagogy, ability to use data to drive student achievement).Works with various members of the central administrative staff to solve school problems such as transportation, special services, federal and state programs, and the like.Knows and follows school policy and the chain of command.Acts ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment.Performs such district-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:To be determined by calendar year.  Regular attendance is an essential function of this job.  Emmett Independent School District #221 is an equal opportunity employer/educator with an alcohol, drug, and tobacco free environment, and does not unlawfully discriminate in employment.
