Position Overview:
Meadows Valley School is seeking a dedicated and experienced K-12 School Counselor to join our team. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our diverse student body. Responsibilities:

Student Support Services: Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students to address academic, social, and emotional concerns. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement interventions to support student success.
Crisis Intervention: Respond promptly and effectively to crises and emergencies affecting students. Implement crisis intervention strategies and facilitate appropriate referrals to external resources when necessary.
Academic Planning: Assist students in developing academic and career goals. Provide guidance on course selection, college and career readiness, and post-secondary options. Facilitate the development and monitoring of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 plans.
Social-Emotional Learning: Implement comprehensive social-emotional learning programs to promote positive behavior, resilience, and interpersonal skills among students. Conduct classroom lessons and workshops on topics such as conflict resolution, stress management, and diversity awareness.
Collaboration and Consultation: Work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and community partners to support the holistic development of students. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and develop intervention plans.

Education required

Master's degree in School Counseling or related field.
Valid state licensure or certification as a School Counselor.

Skills required

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and families.
Knowledge of counseling theories, techniques, and best practices.
Experience in crisis intervention and behavior management preferred.
