The district has an immediate opening for a long term substitute at Lakeside Jr/Sr High School in Plummer, Idaho. The teacher will provide instruction in graphic design and prepare the yearbook. Lakeside has a robust program and the district wishes to maintain the program in the absence of the regular instructor. The Plummer-Worley Joint School District is a small rural district located along Highway 95 in Benewah and Kootenai Counties in Idaho. The Worley School District and the Western Benewah School District consolidated in 1990 to form a joint district providing a public education to children in grades Pre-K through 12. Enrollment is currently 369 students. Lakeside Elementary has 151 students, Lakeside Jr. High School has 99 students, and Lakeside Sr. High School has 119. The district is a public school located on the Coeur d’Alene Indian Reservation with a student population that is 79 percent Native American, 21 percent Caucasian and 2 percent other ethnicity. 11 percent of our students are of Hispanic descent.The district is located on the Coeur d’Alene Indian Reservation and encompasses the towns of Worley, Plummer, Tensed, and DeSmet and is conveniently located along Highway 95 between Coeur d’Alene and Moscow, Idaho. Our location offers the advantage of a rural lifestyle within easy driving distance to urban activities and higher education.Primary industry includes tribal enterprises such as gaming, entertainment, government, and health care followed by the timber industry, farming, recreation, and business. The Coeur d’Alene Tribe is one of the largest employers in North Idaho.Our community boasts a state of the art medical facility open five days a week and includes medical, dental, pharmaceutical, vision, chiropractic, and various community health resources. A Wellness Center offers a full-size swimming pool, warm water therapy pool, weights and conditioning, aerobics, racquetball, physical therapy and cardiovascular rehab., and a full size gym.
