Peace Valley Charter School is seeking a grades teachers (1-8) to join us in the 2023-2024 school year.

About Us -
Peace Valley is a young K-8 charter school located in the growing, bustling city of Boise, Idaho. As the first Waldorf school in our area, we have the privilege to grow alongside our community and bring this wonderful form of education to families who would not otherwise have the opportunity to experience it. Our school culture is collaborative, vibrant, and growing to fill the needs of our unique community in Boise. We are strongly led by the Waldorf principles, and by our shared experiences and intuitions as educators. We are lucky to have an active parent body of dedicated folks who regularly volunteer at our school and are passionate about being involved in their children's education in a real way.

As a school, we at Peace Valley aim to bring forth healthy, confident, free-thinking, and self-directed children who are passionately engaged with education. We want to empower all of our students to contribute responsibly to the world and to appreciate the importance of peace, respect, and compassion.

Classroom teachers will loop with their class from 1st - 8th grades, with an option of participating in either a lower grades loop from 1st through 5th grade or an upper grades loop from 6th through 8th grade.

General Responsibilities and Duties -
● Develop curriculum collaboratively with colleagues integrating arts, movement, and nature activities and Idaho Content Standards.
● Facilitate cross curricula instruction
● Assess individual student learning and development
● Communicate regularly with students’ families
● Participate in ongoing professional development and faculty evaluation processes
● Supervise students
● Maintain a nurturing, peaceful, safe, and positive learning environment

● Work occurs both indoors and outdoors, including office settings, classrooms, playgrounds, and garden environments during all times and weather conditions of the year.

Qualifications -
Candidates will have a valid Idaho State Teaching Certificate or the ability to become certified by the State Department of Education. The candidate must be willing to complete training and certification in Waldorf curriculum and methodology if they do not already have a certificate from a recognized Waldorf teacher training program. Our goal is that our faculty will represent the best of both worlds - dual certified with Idaho State teaching credentials and Waldorf certification. Additional interests, skills, and initiative in various areas such as drawing, singing, movement, and drama are also desired.
