PARAPROFESSIONALTo assist teacher in providing appropriate educational support whilemaintaining a safe learning environment.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: (not limited to, but may include) Maintain confidentiality. Work cooperatively with supervisor(s), co-workers, students, parents, and agency staff. Refer all parent concerns to supervisor.Supervise Recess, Lunches etc..Provide tutoring with small groups or individual children as directed in a variety of settings,(reading/math instruction).Input data as directed by the teacher into Title data system.Assist the teacher in maintaining an orderly learning environment.Perform clerical tasks such as typing, copying and filing.Be familiar with facility procedures when performing duties with a work ethic that iscommitted to safety. Report any unsafe working conditions to a supervisor.Participate in meetings and functions when requested.Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities that the teacher may assign.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - required with or without a reasonable accommodation:Effective communication capabilities to discern verbal conversationComprehend the meaning of words and respond effectivelyVisual acuity to comprehend written work, prepare, review, and organize documents andobserve classroom and student activitiesManual dexterity to perform repetitive hand/wrist/arm motions and to operate a computer andoffice equipment and to physically restrain a student to keep from harming self and/or othersPersonal mobility, agility, strength, and reflexes which permits the employee to stand or sit forlong periods of time, physically restrain a student, to lift or move objects or students that weighup to 50 lbs and to work in a classroom environment.Job tasks may require occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling,lifting, fingering and grasping
