Blackfoot Charter is a growing, mid-sized school of 400 students located in Blackfoot, ID. Outdoor opportunities abound and we are a short drive from two larger cities of Idaho Falls and Pocatello. We are located in a new facility built in 2023, we operate an internal Child Nutrition Program, have our own transportation/bussing department, as well as participating in the East Idaho Charter Sports League. Blackfoot Charter encourages accountability, positive support and kindness when interacting with stakeholders, students, peers and staff. Our students take the Knights Oath (Ownership, Attitude, Teamwork, and Honor) each day and we work to create a positive supportive learning environment for our students and staff through PBIS, along with a strong focus on academics and remediation. We operate on a 4 day school week, with 1 Friday a month set aside for staff development, planning and team building. Our staff is a supportive group of tight-knit educators with a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences that make Blackfoot Charter an excellent place to work!

We are looking for a strong team member with a record of student academic success or who is able to work closely with their team and build those successes through Professional Learning Communities. Strong communication skills, data analysis skills and knowledge of PBIS are a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Valid Idaho K-8 teaching certificate.
2. Excellent organizational skills.
3. Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records.
4. Maintain confidentiality of staff and students.
5. Understanding of Idaho State Content Standards.
6. Standards based grading practices background desired.
7. Ability to pass background check.

REPORTS TO:
Building Principal

JOB SUMMARY:
*Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students assigned for instruction. *Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. *Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals. *Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate to the teaching assignment. *Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required. *Counsels with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis. *Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner. *Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for classroom paraprofessionals and/or volunteers. *Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. *Strives to maintain and improve professional competence. *Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as requested. *Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation. *Accepts reasonable student supervision assignments that are necessary for the safe management of the school. *Designs lesson plans as an instructional aid. When absent, provides the substitute with lesson plans or complete directions to carry on the educational program of the teacher. *Seeks out opportunities for professional growth. *Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information.
