Salary: Aligned to the Idaho State Dept of Education Career Ladder
2024-25 Work Contract: 187 Days

Position Summary
The Elementary Music Teacher teaches skills in music appreciation, harmony, and explorations in music, and in instrumental music (band, orchestra, instrumental ensemble) to elementary students.

Minimum Qualifications
-Current Idaho teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement
-Strong verbal and oral communication skills
-Self-motivated and strong analytical skills
-Attention to detail, prioritization skills, and time management
-Valid Idaho identification
-Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status


Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Major responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
-Develops and administers music curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives
-Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction and student learning
-Plans a balanced music program and organizes daily class time so that preparation, rehearsal, and instruction can be accomplished within the allotted time.
-Designs learning activities to demonstrate the application of music to everyday existence and problem solving
-Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed
-Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops, or professional meetings, or by conducting research
-Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents
-Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom
-Coordinates with other professional staff members and participates in faculty meetings and committees
-Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal as designated by the Executive Director
