IDJC is seeking a leader in education with top-notch collaborative and interpersonal skills to act as Vice Principal of the Career and Technical Education Program. This is a full-time position located at Juniper Hills High School at the Juvenile Corrections Center in Nampa, Idaho.This position reports to the Education Program Manager-Principal and works closely with the Education Program Managers at Juniper Hills Schools in the other facilities within the agency. In addition, they will work closely with treatment, security and facility staff to solve problems and coordinate academic/vocational programs with the Department's treatment program.This is a full-time, 40 hour/week position with full benefits including PERSI retirement, medical, dental and vision.The starting rate of pay is $66,504.86/per year+ depending on experience.
Education required
old or be eligible for:A Professional Technical Administrator Certificate;ORSchool Principal Pre-K-12; or Superintendent endorsement.Eligible candidates must become certified or endorsed in one of the above areas within 90 days of hire.
Experience required
Some knowledge of: at-risk populations; trends and practices in alternative education for juveniles; use of technology in delivery of education programs.Good knowledge of: counseling and intervention methods; curriculum development and application; theories, methods, practices, and equipment used in education programs.Some knowledge of professional education staff supervision.
Skills required
Must meet federal PREA standards (see exam)Must be willing to work in a juvenile corrections facility.
