Provide each school child with a food of high nutritional quality in an atmosphere of cleanliness and personal caring.




Bachelor’s degree related to nutrition, or

Bachelor’s degree in any academic major and at least 2 years of experience in management of school nutrition program, or

Associate’s degree or equivalent educational experience with major related to nutrition and at least 2 years of relevant school nutrition program experience.  And at least 8 hours of food safety training within the last 5 years or completed within 30 days of employee’s start date

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable



Licensed or registered Dietitian

Background with USDA procedures

Five (5) years experience in institutional meal planning and preparation

Experience in supervisory, management type employment

ESSENTIAL DUTIES includes the following or other duties as assigned by the Superintendent, Board, or designee:

Plan and supervise the preparation and serving of menus at all schools

Interpret to the administration, staff, and public Federal and State standards and guidelines of the school food service and the school food program

Purchase and maintain an inventory of all foods, supplies and equipment

Act as supervisor for employment of all food service personnel

Recommend prices charged for various types of lunches

Work with the Director of Fiscal Affairs in maintaining financial records

Supervise payroll records

Assist in maintaining records of individual school lunch receipts and deposits

Assist in preparation of the yearly budget

Inform the public through local media of planned lunch menus on a weekly basis

Comply with all rules and regulations pertaining to the Type A lunch

Supervise the planning and/or operation of any special meals required for district sponsored events

Attend Board meetings as directed

Perform other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the superintendent and/or board may deem necessary.

Salary Range:   Begins at $45,145.00, however, salary is dependent upon experience.
