Elevate Academy Network currently has a strategic plan to build 5 additional campuses throughout
Idaho in the next 5 years. Elevate Academy schools serve 6-12th grade students in schools that focus on
serving at-risk students in an integrated curricular mastery-based, career technical education focused
environment.

Position Summary
Elevate Academy Network is seeking a Chief Academic Officer (CAO) to lead the academics across the
network. Reporting to the CEO, the CAO will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team
focused on building a high performing schools throughout the network. The CAO will serve as a critical
partner to the CEO to ensure the academic systems, professional development, special programs and
data collection will shape the future of the organization and set Elevate up for continued success. This
position represents a compelling opportunity to be part of a charter network that rapidly expanding in
an effort to provide opportunity to our states most disenfranchised youth.
Responsibilities
The CAO will be responsible for developing the vision, strategy, and implementation in these
primary areas:
o Delivering Effective Instruction
▪ Work with Chief People Officer (CPO) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to refine the
academic blueprint, ensuring the blue print contains precise language and plans, systems and
academic approach that will lead to the achievement of school specific goals and the
organization’s mission
▪ Work with the CPO to develop and execute the audit plan that will systematically observe the
key elements of the academic blueprint throughout the year, providing regular feedback to the
CPO and principal
▪ Perform weekly school classroom and school observations, looking for alignment to the blueprint
and execution of the blueprint in all classes, providing feedback directly to the principal
▪ Work with the CPO and principals to constantly evaluate and improve instruction, curriculum
implementation, assessments, and other aspects of the academic blueprint at schools
▪ Analyze student data to identify ways to improve the execution of the mission and the
accomplishment of school goals
▪ Evaluate professional development, ensuring alignment to the blueprint,
effective utilization of every minute, a culture of practice and true rapid teacher development
and providing professional development as needed
▪ Work with principals and CPO to develop and execute personal coaching or performance
improvement plans
▪ As needed, attend data meetings, leadership team meetings, grade level
meetings and other academic meetings to ensure the successful attainment of school goals
▪ As needed, work with CPO and principals to assist in the planning and execution of PD for
leaders and teachers
o Creating Excellent Culture
▪ Work with the CEO and Chief People Officer (CPO) to develop the Elevate culture blueprint
▪ Work with the school principals to ensure the Elevate values and culture are evident every minute
of every day in every area
▪ Work with the school principals to ensure the consistent, replicable execution of school
strategies and systems as found in the blueprint
▪ Work with the school principals to actively promote Elevate Next Step Ready traits in the school
▪ Track and analyze behavior data to ensure that all systems are effective
▪ Ensure that systems and routines create a powerful student and joyful, professional staff culture
while maintaining the integrity of the mission and the Elevate blueprint.
• Lead, manage and develop principals
o Hire and onboard new principals
▪ Work with the CEO and CPO to hire principals
▪ Develop and execute the onboarding process with the CPO
o Equip principals to lead their staff to the attainment of school goals
▪ Work with the CEO, CPO and principals to create individual leadership development plans
▪ Coach principals on daily and weekly leadership moves and strategies to lead their teams
▪ Provide insight into regular problem-solving and daily execution of the Elevate blueprint
Secondary Responsibilities
• Work with the principals, and HR specialist to execute the staff recruiting and hiring process
• Work the CEO, CPO, and principals to identify future leaders and then create and execute a leadership
development program for identified future leaders
• Ability to build relationships with stakeholders include the State Department of Education, local and
national agencies
• Understand local and national laws applicable to education
Requirements
• Demonstrated passion for the mission and values of Elevate Academy Network and the Elevate
blueprint
• Minimum of three years of experience as a principal in a high performing school
• Proven track record of success managing high-performing teams
• Outstanding leadership and management skills, including managing conflict, goal setting, and holding
people accountable
• Outstanding writing, speaking, and organizational skills with experience interacting with a broad range
of stakeholders
• Ability to inspire and motivate
• Strong systems-level thinking with a deep understanding of school transformational work
• Willingness to work within a network of aligned schools
• Desire to collaborate with school leaders at Network and school level
• Available to work in the summer and over breaks as needed
• Ability to meet goals and deadlines
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and execute at a high level
• Belief that there is not a more urgent task than to provide an outstanding education to all students
• An unwavering conviction that all students can achieve at high levels
• Willingness to be a team player and at times take on duties above and beyond those listed

Education required

Masters Degree or higher in educational leadership preferred.

Benefits

Salary: $85,000-$105,000 depending on experience.Benefits: Full benefit package eligilbe
