VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Salmon School District 291 is seeking a
Certified Counselor K/12
for the 2022-2023 school year.

The counselor will work approximately 157 days, four days a week, Monday through Thursday- 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with one 4-hour teacher workday per month. This is a fully benefitted position to include health insurance, sick and personal, PERSI retirement, and many voluntary benefit options. Salary is dependent on experience and credits.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Job location is at the Pioneer Elementary school, grades K-8.
• Assists students in evaluating their aptitudes and abilities through the interpretation of individual standardized test scores and other pertinent data, and works with students in evolving education and occupation plans in terms of such evaluation. ·
• Remains readily available to students so as to provide counseling that will lead each student to increased personal growth, self-understanding and maturity.
• Works with teachers and other staff membe.rs to improve the educational prospects of individual students being counseled.
• Initiates, assembles, maintains and interprets accurate cumulative progress records, activity records and uniform transcript records for students.
• Registers new students to school and orients them to school procedures and opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Valid Idaho Teaching Certificate or ability to gain one, with applicable K-12 endorsement.
• Ability to pass background check. (Fingerprint and background checks are the expense of the applicant).
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Well organized and able to keep good records.
• Ability to work well with staff, students, and parents while maintaining confidentiality.
