Elevate Academy is seeking a Firefighting CTE teacher to teach 6th-12th grades using a continuum of skills that are relevant and needed in the workplace. This position will support student-run businesses through our career technical education opportunities.
We are looking for people who love kids, work well with teams of adults, and believe in a learner-centered teaching approach to join our school family.

Education required

Minimum Qualifications: Idaho teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement(s) or the ability to obtain the proper endorsement(s) via a state program. Strong background in teaching methods, developmentally appropriate classroom activities, and effective classroom management. Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and effective teaching methods. Strong background in the integration of technology with instruction. Ability to maintain a positive learning environment. Work well with students, staff, and the public. Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills. Applicant must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug
screening.

Skills required

• Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds.
• Encourage parent and community involvement, obtain information for parents when requested, promptly return phone calls and answer emails.
• Participate in appropriate professional activities.
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices, and other equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
