**REPORTS TO**: Superintendent/Board of Trustees

**QUALIFICATIONS

1. Criminal history check and fingerprinting as required by the school district.
2. Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university; or three or more year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and school district business office experience.
3. Working knowledge of accounting, general ledger, payroll, fixed assets, supervisory and office procedures.
4. Bondable.
5. Ability to relate to the general public, teachers, administrators, and board.
6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the school board may find appropriate and acceptable.

**PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Acts ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment.
2. Acts as advisor to the Superintendent and Board of Trustees on all questions relating to the business and financial affairs of the school district.
3. Prepares and analyzes financial information for annual fiscal year end audit.
4. Reports necessary information including certified/classified personnel data, student data, and completes all reports for the SDE.
5. Receives deposits and monitors investments of all district funds as designated by the Board of Trustees and /or Superintendent in accordance with the provisions of the public depository laws.
6. Initiates the projection of budget revenues and expenditures, development of financial referenda and preparation of prospectus for bond sales with assistance from the Superintendent.
7. Coordinates and implements District budgets, providing applicable monthly reports to: Superintendent, Board of Trustees, School Principals, and other department managers.
8. Assists the Superintendent with preparation for specifications on purchases, which are to be submitted for bid and has specifications approved by appropriate persons prior to publication.
9. Assists Superintendent, School Principals, and Supervisors in budgeting, monitoring monthly expenditures, and providing monthly detailed expenditures.
10. Processes all purchase orders and verifies budget codes, which have been properly authorized by the signature of person in charge of budget area.
11. Issues checks for payment of all district bills. The Board of Trustees shall approve all amounts of checks authorized.
12. Maintains such payroll and accounting procedures as are necessary to prepare the reports on expenditures, revenues, and financial affairs of the District as required by law and the District Board of Trustees and Superintendent.
13. Works with Superintendent to maintain updated and appropriate accounting procedures, job descriptions, financial and proposed budget reports and the District policy and procedures.
14. Assists Superintendent in keeping records covering the financial history of school properties, together with appraisals of estimates of present value.
15. Assists Superintendent in keeping a record of all property insurance of the District according to the instructions of the Board in the name of and for the benefits of the School District and in such amounts as directed.
16. Files necessary documentation on insurance claims for the School District.
17. Assists the Superintendent in maintaining records of fixed assets of all buildings, insurance, and audit purposes.
18. Assists during negotiations gathering and assembling data relevant to wages, salaries and benefits, policy, and master agreement.
19. Monitors student activity accounts for each school and maintains financial information concerning their receipts and disbursements.
20. Monitors property tax collections and calculates property tax levies.
21. Attends monthly School Board meeting to answer any questions that may arise regarding financial responsibility.
22. Assists in the coordination of School District elections.
23. Posts and publishes legal notices as required by law.
24. Maintains a friendly and helpful atmosphere in the district office.
25. Human Resource duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
26. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Superintendent.
27. Possibility of being appointed the Clerk of the Board.

1. Returns requests for information by the date and time specified.
2. Attends all meetings as required, attends in a prompt manner, and remains throughout the meeting.
3. Arrives on time, and works scheduled hours.
4. Notifies the Superintendent in the event of illness or other reason for absence.
5. Completes tasks quickly and efficiently.
6. Meets deadlines as established by the Superintendent.
7. Promptly informs the Superintendent of problems needing attention.

**Physical Requirement:

In an eight-hour day, employee may: stand/walk 1-4 hours and or sit 3-5 hours. Some driving may be necessary for posting of mail and other services. Employee may use hands for repetitive single grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation. Employee may need to bend, twist, squat, climb, and reach above shoulders occasionally. Employee may need to lift approximately 50 pounds with frequent lifting and or carrying of objects weighing 10-20 pounds.

**Employment Period**: July 1 – June 30

**Terms of Employment**: The Notus School District Salary Schedule determines wage and benefits.

This position shall be considered in all aspects “employment at will”. Neither the employment period nor any other description as to positions, duty, or assignment shall create a property right in the employment and such are set forth only to advise the employee of when and what type of services will be required by the district so long as the employment continues.

The employee/employment is at all times subject to the rules, regulations, and policies of the district as have been promulgated by the Notus Board of Trustees and each employee is held responsible for having knowledge of such rules, regulations, and policies.

**Evaluation:** Performance of this position will be evaluated each year by the Superintendent.
