Secondary Bookkeeper/Secretary
Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the principal or other administrator, provides clerical, secretarial, and administrative assistance to school administrators at a school site, conveys information regarding school functions and procedures; and supports the broad array of services provided to students, parents, instructional and support employees.
Operates a variety of office equipment. Completes clerical duties as assigned.
Keeps accurate records of receipts and expenditures for all student body accounts. Balances books and prepares budget reports on a monthly basis. Makes a monthly report to the Principal and district office for board minutes. Compiles monthly sales tax report.
Collects, receipts, and deposits student body monies according to acceptable accounting procedures. Prepares cash boxes for games, dances, fundraising events, etc.
Administers basic first-aid and contacts parents as instructed. Keeps accurate records of all accidents.
Supervises the processing of purchase orders, invoices, vouchers, etc. Dispenses monies according to the established procedures.
Prepares financial records for audit. Assists with audit as required.
Assists Athletic Director with reports. Keeps records of budget for coaches. Helps with athletic functions when Emmett is the host site (cash boxes, referees, reports, and expenditures).
Assists students, parents, and staff in a positive friendly manner. Directs inquiries and complaints to appropriate persons.
Places and receives telephone calls and directs calls or messages to staff.
Knows and follows school policy and chain of command.
Acts ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment.
Performs such school-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
