Filer School District is accepting applications for a Behavior Interventionist (7 hrs/day) for Filer Intermediate School for the 2021-2022 school year. The applicants must also meet State guidelines for paraprofessional status. The salary is according to the negotiated salary schedule. This position will be open until filled. 1. BS/BA degree or higher in human services field, with at least 21 related credits and/or Habilitation Intervention (HI) certified
2. Preferred one (1) year experience in providing social services to children and/or adults, preferably in a mental health related field
3. Aptitude for the work to be performed
4. Interest in children and education
5. Desire to assist students with emotional disturbance in a learning environment
6. Emotional maturity and stability necessary for the specialized work involved
7. Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and non-verbal, including written, communications
8. Ability to work independently and interdependently in different school locations and with different people
9. Ability to build rapport with students, parents and other professionals
10. Ability to problem solve a variety of behavioral and social situations
11. Effective time management and organizational skills
12. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board find appropriate and acceptable
