POSITION: 8th Grade, Middle School Social Studies Teacher
LOCATION: Eagle, Idaho
JOB TYPE: 2023-2024 School Year, Full-Time Contract

JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced 8th grade social studies teacher to join our team at North Star Charter School in Eagle, Idaho. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons to students in 8th grade, helping them to develop an understanding of the history, geography, economics, and government of the United States.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in education or a related field
Valid Idaho teaching certificate with an endorsement in social studies for grades 6-12
Preferred teaching experience in social studies at the middle school level
Strong knowledge of Idaho state standards for social studies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement effective lesson plans that align with the Idaho state standards for social studies and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters active learning and student engagement.
Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to facilitate student learning and achievement.
Assess student progress regularly and provide feedback to students and parents/guardians.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay up-to-date with the latest research and trends in social studies education.
